Fledge cookie notice

1. What this is about
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. Local storage works on the same principle. This notice covers both.
Fledge barely uses cookies. Most of what is kept in your browser sits in local storage on your own device. We set three cookies: two are necessary for Fledge to work (your language choice, and your cookie choice), and the only optional one is for analytics.
2. What Fledge keeps in your browser
Necessary for Fledge to work
These are mostly kept in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device and do not travel to any other website.

Fledge does not work without these. Clearing your browser storage signs you out.
Analytics: the only optional cookie we set
We use PostHog to understand which features people use, where they get stuck, and what breaks. That is how we decide what to do next.

This cookie is not set until you accept it, and no analytics data is sent until you do.
Two things to know.
- PostHog runs through fledge.to, not from a separate domain. So this is not a third-party tracker; it is a cookie on our own domain. It cannot follow you to other websites.
- We use it to see overall patterns across many users. It does not build an advertising profile of you, and it is not sold.
No advertising cookies
Fledge does not show advertising and does not place advertising or targeting cookies.
3. Your choice
- Analytics: you can turn analytics off in the notice shown on your first visit, in the “Your choice” section of this page, or in your account settings. That cookie is used only for analytics, so with it off Fledge works exactly the same.
- Your browser: every browser can clear cookies and local storage. Clearing local storage signs you out and forgets your language choice. Nothing in your account is lost.
- Browser signals: if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a refusal: analytics stays off and the notice is not shown.
- Withdrawing consent: write to hello@fledge.to at any time.
